Where it fits
High ceilings and deep cans call for this bulb. The long neck sets the face level with the trim, so the full flood reaches the floor. At 75 and 100 watts it has the punch for a two-story entry, a porch ceiling or a retail shelf. It screws into the same E26 socket as any household bulb.

Pick another one if
It will not suit a shallow can. In one built for a short neck it hangs below the ceiling and glares. A 100 watt halogen also draws ten times what an LED flood does, and it gets hot enough to matter in a closed fixture. Check the can's wattage limit, since many stop at 75.

Redressed lights
I buy these for our redressed lights in our den. They do good but not sure they last as long as advertised
Burned out QUICKLY!
We purchased these bulbs for the canned ceiling lights in our home that is still being completed. I purchased multiple packs. I would guess that since there is no work done during the night on the house that there is no more than 20 hours of service time on any of the bulbs in the home. So it is amazing to me and disappointing that 2 bulbs stopped working--burned out. A waste of money. Defective????
PAR30 Long Neck Halogen Flood Bulb, 120V E26: questions
Can I put a 100W PAR30 in any recessed can?
Only if the label inside the can allows 100W. Many cans stop at 75W, and going over the limit overheats the housing.
Is it suitable for outdoor fixtures?
The maker lists indoor and outdoor use. Outdoors, the fixture must keep rain off the bulb.
Short neck or long neck?
Measure the old bulb. About 4.7 in from face to base tip is a long neck, and about 3.6 in is a short neck.
