G9 base

Where it fits
A G9 is small enough to hide inside a glass shade the size of an egg. The capsule is 0.55 in wide and 1.65 in long. That is why so many modern chandeliers and bath bars use it. You push it into the socket by its loops, and it works on house power with no transformer. It dims from 10 to 100 percent.
Check before you buy
- The old bulb has two wire loops for a base, not straight pins.
- The fixture is marked 120V and allows 40W or 60W per socket.
- The shade has room for a capsule 1.65 in long.

Pick another one if
Do not confuse it with a G8 or a G4. Those have straight pins, and they will not hold in a G9 socket. Sixty watts in a small closed shade also gets hot. If your fixture names 40W, stay there. Hold the bulb with a cloth when you fit it, because skin oil on the glass shortens a halogen's life.

Best bang for buck commercial oven light
These bulbs were purchased for a commercial rack oven. These bulbs have worked just as well, if not better, than the name brand which costs $8 PER BULB. When I night these, they came out to less than $1 per bulb. They were a perfect fit, easy to install, and again, better quality bulb than the name brand. They offer great brightness and make it easy to view the product that is baking. The oven reaches temperatures up to 450°F and we use steam in the oven. The bulbs are covered by glass bulb covers.
Way less expensive
These bulbs go ( literally) for like $7 or so a piece at Big stores like Lowe's. These are my only option for my bathroom lights, so I'm super happy to find them for much cheaper. Quality is the same, too!
Burnt out after 2 days in bathroom fixture
I got the 10 pack replaced two bulbs in my bathroom light fixtures, one burnt out again already! Hoping it was just one bad bulb!!

The light bulbs work perfect and are about the 10th of the cost of what you would buy them at your local hardware store. I am buying an extra dozen to save for future use.

Clear or frosted G9?
Clear gives a sharp, bright point that suits crystal and closed glass shades. Frosted spreads the light and is easier on the eye where the bulb shows.
Is G9 the same as G8?
No. G9 has two looped pins 9 mm apart. G8 has two straight pins 8 mm apart. They do not fit each other's sockets.
Can I touch the bulb?
Use a cloth or the wrapper. Oil from your fingers leaves a hot spot on halogen glass and can shorten its life.
